Slate Runes - UPDATE

Hi there. The slate runes are now finished... TaDaa!
I know I mentioned in an earlier post that I would paint on the sigils with a hand-made natural paint, but once I had actually engraved each stone, I felt that painting them wouldn't actually add anything to them as the etching on slate doesn't seem to fade as it does with other stone.

So, I will pop them up on both shops tonight and see if they sell. Just have to go get on the sewing machine now and make a pouch for them.

Foliate man

Here it is, as promised. This is the original of the foliate man in Fimo (Green Man) that I have been working on recently. The plan is now to find the most reliable way to take a mould of it so that I can cast lots of them so that all you lovely people can buy them from me.

I will let you all know when the casts are available and also where from.
Hope you like it!

Quick late one

Just opened up a second store over on DaWanda.com (could it be I have started a virtual "chain" out of Avie Rose's Pagan Emporium?)

Slate Runes

As I said in yesterdays post, I have got hold of some great chips of slate which I am in the process of crafting a new set of runes with.
I have decided that I will engrave the sigils onto the stone and am then going to paint them -as I often do - the difference being that this time, instead of using enamel I will attempt to make a paint out of natural pigments.

I think I will powder up some iron oxide for the pigment and possibly use egg yolk as a bonding material (or something similar).

Once they are done, I will put some pics up here and probably try to sell them over on the Folksy.com store.

New projects - almost completed.

I have just found some great 'chips' of slate, that I thought would make a really great set of runes, they are going to look really 'rustic' I think. Will post up some pictures as soon as they are done.

Also I have been working on a plaque of the green man for quite some time now (must get round to posting up the pictures!) which is now completed. I just have to sort out a few issues that I am having with the moulding and then they should be ready for sale. I am personally really pleased with them. Hope everyone thinks that it is alright.

Runewood.com

My dad has recently started up a new web store called runewood.com - which is a pagan gothica site, stocking all sorts of top quality items at rediculously cheap prices (and I am not just saying that so that you will go and have a look, they actually are really cheap).

Selling Glass Runes on Folksy.com

I have recently started making lots of sets of Rune stones out of glass. This picture really doesn't do them the justice that they deserve. They have a stunning irredescent silvery sheen to them, but when they are held upto the light, they let through a deep purple glow!
If you are interested in buying a set of these stones, then you can follow the link to Folksy.com at the top of the page.

These are also sold in bulk wholesale through either myself or runewood.com
